Forge Forward - Welding Camp

This camp is designed for high school students interested in exploring careers in welding and the skilled trades. Students will learn foundational welding techniques in a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment while gaining exposure to modern manufacturing and construction careers. Participants will receive instruction in welding safety, equipment setup, and basic processes such as GMAW (MIG) and SMAW (Stick). Emphasis is placed on skill development, confidence-building, problem-solving, and precision craftsmanship. Students will complete guided projects that reinforce technical skills and allow for creative expression through metal fabrication. Proper dress attire for this camp includes blue jeans (cotton); cotton long sleeve shirt, and leather shoes and boots. Open-toed shoes, shorts, and/or tee-shirts are not allowed. Summer Camp withdrawals must be submitted by Wednesday at 5:00pm the week prior to the camp starting in order to receive a refund.

Little Free Community Library Project - Construction

This hands-on summer camp is designed for high school students interested in construction, skilled trades, and community service. Students will work as a team to design and build a little free community library, gaining practical experience with construction tools, materials, and techniques. Participants will learn foundational construction skills such as accurate measuring and layout, cutting and fastening materials, basic framing, and finishing work. Instruction will also include jobsite safety, tool use, reading simple plans, and understanding how construction projects are planned and executed from start to finish. In addition to technical skills, students will develop teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills essential to careers in construction and the trades. The completed free library will be installed in the community, allowing students to see the real-world impact of their work while supporting literacy and civic engagement. No prior construction experience is required. This camp is ideal for students considering careers in construction, architecture, engineering, or related technical fields. Rising 9th - 12th graders. Meals are not included. Students should bring a bagged lunch each day. Maker's Camp
