About this Camp

This camp is designed for high school students interested in exploring careers in welding and the skilled trades. Students will learn foundational welding techniques in a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment while gaining exposure to modern manufacturing and construction careers. Participants will receive instruction in welding safety, equipment setup, and basic processes such as GMAW (MIG) and SMAW (Stick). Emphasis is placed on skill development, confidence-building, problem-solving, and precision craftsmanship. Students will complete guided projects that reinforce technical skills and allow for creative expression through metal fabrication.
The program also introduces students to college and career pathways in welding, including certifications, apprenticeships, and postsecondary training options. Industry expectations, workplace professionalism, and career readiness skills are integrated throughout the experience.
Intentionally designed to welcome students who may be new to the trades, with a focus on mentorship, collaboration, and hands-on learning. No prior welding experience is required. Rising 11th and 12th graders (must be 16 years of age on or before July 13, 2026).
