Motorcycle Rider Safety
Price: $271.40
Summary
Basic Rider Course is designed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and provides 11 hours of class work and practical riding skills for new riders or for experienced riders who want to improve their riding skills. SPCC provides the motorcycles and excellent instructors. Students should have a driver's license, but motorcycle endorsement or permit is not required. Successful graduates of this course will receive a waiver card for the on-bike skills portion (road test) of the NC DMV motorcycle license test. Students bring a pen and dress appropriately for riding, including long pants (no holes), long sleeves, over the ankle footwear, full fingered gloves, protective eyewear (sunglasses are OK), and a helmet.
Requirements
The course dates are: 5/30/2026 AND 5/31/2026 from 8:00am-1:30pm. Classwork will take place in the MAIN 3 story white building and the road work in our parking lot.
Prior to participating in the in-person riding sessions, participants will need to complete an online module lasting approximately 5 hours long. South Piedmont's Continuing Education Division will forward access details for the online course to registrants 2 weeks prior to their particular class session.
You must show proof of the completion of the online portion and bring your ID to sign in to class.
Licensure: Authorization granted to SPCC to provide instruction does not imply or provide guarantees of any kind that an individual will be granted licensure by another state as a result of completing coursework at SPCC or receiving licensure in North Carolina. It is the sole responsibility of the individual/student to determine whether another college or license-awarding agency in another state will accept SPCC coursework and/or award licensure through a reciprocity agreement with the State of North Carolina.
